Allie Harper

Allie Harper is the author of the thrilling "adult Nancy Drew" mystery, When Snapdragons Whisper, a story that asks: Is the truth what we really want to know? Thrust into the spotlight amidst a serial killing spree, crime journalist Kylie Lewis quickly realizes that hope can be more paralyzing than fear as she searches for answers.

Harper's new series, The Kylie Bell Chronicles, is like a girl shot from a cannon with a strong female lead and a push to show the realities of being a woman in a man's world.  It combines the gritty New York crime scene with the empowering feel of the beloved Nancy Drew series and dark elements such as murder, coercion, misogyny, and lies. Emphasizing strong relationships, Harper explores the nuances of parent figures, friendships, and romantic partners. Every story is woven with themes of mental health and the struggle to overcome the difficulties of trauma and mental health diagnoses.

With her B.A. in English and Creative Writing, Allie Harper has been writing fiction stories for over ten years. Her experience with severe mental illness has led her to craft a unique voice and point of view, and elements and themes of mental health can be found woven throughout her stories. Currently living in Houston with her husband and their dog, Seymour, Allie is a marketing copywriter by day, a baseball fan by night, and an avid matcha and coffee drinker.
